The bail plea of former minister Kawasi Lakhma, arrested in the excise scam case, has been rejected. Let us tell you that Kawasi Lakhma was to appear in court on Tuesday, but due to lack of force, Kawasi Lakhma did not appear in court. Lakhma was produced through video conferencing. The court has sent Kawasi Lakhma to jail in judicial custody till February 18.
Liquor businessman Arvind Singh had told ED in his statement that every month Kawasi Lakhma used to get 50 lakh rupees from the liquor cardan. Along with this, Special Secretary of Excise Department Arun Pati Tripathi had also told in his statement that along with 50 lakhs, one and a half crore rupees were given from the liquor cardan. According to this, the former minister was getting two crores every month. This has been confirmed by the testimony of both. This scam has been going on for 36 months.
