Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the opposition who quit the Lok Sabha during the debate on the no-confidence motion. The opposition had presented a no-confidence motion against the Modi government in the Lok Sabha, but when the time for voting came, the opposition sat on a dharna. Now the Prime Minister is taunting this, saying that the opposition is afraid of a vote of no confidence, due to which the arrogant coalition will be exposed. Prime Minister Modi said that everyone has seen that we have defeated the mistrust of the parliamentary opposition and given a befitting reply to the negativity being spread in the country. The situation was such that the people of the opposition ran away in the middle of the discussion, left the House.
Modi said, “Even before the meeting, the home minister of the country wrote a letter to the opposition saying that he wanted to discuss the Manipur issue immediately. Had there been a serious discussion on such a sensitive subject, Manipur would have definitely got relief and new avenues would have emerged to solve the problem. The PM claimed that the opposition does not want to discuss the Manipur issue as they know that Manipur's truth will hurt them the most. The opposition is not concerned with the pain and suffering of the people of Manipur. For his politics, the party is bigger than the country and he does not want Manipur. These opposition parties have abstained from discussing Manipur in the House of Representatives, filed no-confidence motions and prioritized political debate.
Prime Minister Modi said that people from all over the country saw him running away from the house. But it is very sad that these people have cheated the people of Manipur. Attacking the Prime Minister, he said that the truth is that he is scared of no-confidence vote. Those people did not want voting to take place, because if voting had taken place, the arrogant coalition would have been exposed. PM said,
