New Delhi: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Friday announced the adjournment of the Lok Sabha sine die. Birla said that 17 sittings of the Lok Sabha were held during the monsoon session of the Lok Sabha which began on July 20. He told that during this period the House functioned for 44 hours 15 minutes. In his concluding speech on the last day of the monsoon session, Birla said 20 bills were introduced and 22 bills were passed during the session. Lok Sabha Speaker informed that 20 questions asked in the House were answered orally on August 9, 2023. This was the 12th session of the 17th Lok Sabha. Speaker Om Birla thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and leaders of all parties and MPs for their cooperation in the proceedings.

At the same time, a total of 60 members participated in the discussion on the no-confidence motion. The NDA easily defeated the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha by a voice vote.
