Korea As per the instructions of Chhattisgarh Government, the process of recovery of outstanding dues from former and Panchayat officials is being done speedily in the district. Under the guidance of Collector Chandan Tripathi, this action was taken continuously by the Sub-Divisional Officer (Revenue) and Chief Executive Officer Janpad Panchayats between 01 January 2025 to 30 June 2025.
Recovery in District Panchayats:
Cases related to outstanding amount of Rs 11,45,776 were registered in District Panchayat Sonhat. During this period an amount of Rs 8,47,776 has been recovered/adjusted, while an amount of Rs 2,98,000 is still recoverable. The number of defaulters in Sonhat has come down from 12 to 2, whereas in District Panchayat Baikunthpur cases were registered for outstanding amount of about Rs 63,30,000. Out of this, an amount of Rs 32,33,379 has been recovered/adjusted so far, while an amount of Rs 30,94,600 is still outstanding. There were 27 defaulters in Baikunthpur development block, now 9 are left.
Process of recovery from defaulters continues:
The Deputy Director of the District Panchayat has informed that the process of recovery of money from all the remaining defaulters will continue. The concerned officers have been directed that there should be no laxity in recovery and all the cases should be settled soon.
The District Panchayat Office also informed that this action is being taken with the aim of ensuring transparency and accountability, so that financial discipline can be maintained at the Panchayat level.
