   Kananaskis    Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed happiness over his interaction with French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the G7 summit. Highlighting the strong ties between India and France, Prime Minister Modi wrote on his 'X' account, "It is always a pleasure to interact with my friend, President Emmanuel Macron and exchange views on a wide range of issues. India and France will continue to work together for the betterment of our planet."

After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in April this year, Macron had a phone conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 12. He had said that France stands firmly with India and its people in this hour of grief.

Macron also said that France will stand with its allies. France will continue to fight against terrorism wherever needed.

The French President had posted on 'X', "I have spoken to PM Narendra Modi about the cowardly terrorist attack on Tuesday. This attack has tragically killed dozens of innocent civilians. France stands firmly with India and its people in this hour of grief. France, together with its allies, will continue to fight terrorism wherever needed."

This meeting with Macron was one of the many high-level bilateral meetings of PM Modi at the 51st G7 summit in Kananaskis. Here he met the leaders of Mexico, South Korea, Australia, South Africa, France and Canada. It has expressed India's commitment to strengthen global partnerships.

India and France have completed 25 years of strategic partnership. India's relations with France are based on deep trust and commitment.

PM Modi had earlier met UK PM Keir Starmer on the sidelines of the G7 summit on Tuesday.

"A special conversation with Prime Minister Keir Starmer! India-UK ties are growing stronger, reflected in our progress in areas such as trade and commerce. We will continue to work together to give this friendship even further momentum," PM Modi said in a post on 'X' after meeting Keir Starmer.

PM Modi wrote in a post after meeting with the President of South Korea, "I met South Korean President Lee Jae-myung in Canada. India and the Republic of Korea want to work together in commerce, investment, technology, green hydrogen, shipbuilding and other areas."

In another post on 'X', PM Modi wrote after his meeting with the German Chancellor, "It was a great pleasure to interact with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Canada. India and Germany are close friends, bound by shared values. This year we mark 25 years of our strategic partnership. We discussed how to work even more closely in areas such as IT, manufacturing, semiconductors, sustainability, research and innovation. Chancellor Merz and I also discussed deepening defence and security ties. We will continue to work together in areas such as countering terrorism and striking at terror financing."

After meeting with Mexican President, PM Modi wrote on 'X', "Had a very good meeting with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum. Personally congratulated her on becoming the first woman Mexican President in two centuries. We both see immense potential in India-Mexico relations in the times to come, especially in agriculture, semiconductors, critical minerals, healthcare and other areas. We also discussed ways to enhance people-to-people ties."

PM Modi also met South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese separately on the sidelines of the G7 summit on Tuesday.
