Mumbai . The election battle is in full swing, with Manju Devi on one side and Kranti Devi on the other, and in the meantime, Panchayat Season 4 is going to have a blockbuster premiere on Prime Video! There are slogans and funny arguments in every nook and corner of Phulera, but one thing remains the same even today—the real hero of this show? Food! Elections come and go, but Panchayat's love for food has never changed. The love for food is such that it seems like the kitchen of every Indian household has got a cameo in the show, gourd has become so famous that it has now become the official party symbol of Manju Devi's election campaign!
Food has been an unofficial party member in Panchayat since the beginning of the show—remember the ubiquitous slogans like "Do bachche meethi kheer", or when Abhishek was fed sweets when he came to the village for the first time? And Pradhan ji's discussion on gourd has become their identity! Sometimes it's a heated debate over a plate of food, sometimes gossip over a cup of tea over a tapri—this show has always served spicy moments, that too without stopping!
Now in the fourth part of Panchayat, when the competition between Manju Devi and Kranti Devi's teams is in full swing, food has once again taken the center stage! Sometimes it's the bribe of kheer-lauki, sometimes Kranti Devi roaming around the village and saying "Aaloo le lo", and then the epic samosa scene—where Banrakas declares, "The flour on top is from their side, the potato inside is ours", this is the tasty street politics we live for! The funny thing is that a tasty thali can even make Vinod change his party support! But does he really change? The trailer has kept this on a cliffhanger!
Neena Gupta, who returns in the powerful role of Manju Devi, says, “After doing Panchayat, I have truly embraced lauki (bottle gourd) wholeheartedly, which I could never have imagined! It has become a part of my identity now because of the show. I have also started experimenting at home – lauki ki sabzi, kofta, even halwa! It is no longer just a vegetable, it has become a feeling. The importance Panchayat has given to lauki is commendable, in Phulera it has become a symbol of love. From election strategies to personal emotions, lauki finds its place in every scene.”
Sunita Rajwar, who plays the powerful character of Kranti Devi, says, “In Panchayat, food is not just a part of the scene but a character in itself. This season you will see how potatoes become a weapon of power play in Phulera politics!”
Panchayat's chatpata rishta with food is something that cannot be written, it happens like a jalebi accidentally falling into rabri! And now that the audience wants more of Phulera, the excitement is in full-tadka mode for season 4.
Produced by The Viral Fever, the series is the creation of Deepak Kumar Mishra and Chandan Kumar, written by Chandan Kumar and directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Akshat Vijayvargiya. Panchayat season 4 will stream on Prime Video from June 24.
