Mumbai India's most loved series Panchayat has once again won the hearts of viewers across the country with its new season. The story of season 4 has completely captivated the viewers immersed in the heat of village elections. This season, which shows ground level politics in an interesting way, with humor and truth, is now trending at number 1 on Prime Video India. But this time the story is special not just because of its story or tricks, but because the world of Phulera is presenting the soul of rural India more than ever before.
And the face that has brought life to the world of Phulera village is none other than our own Pradhan ji i.e. Raghuveer Yadav. People have now started considering this character played by him as a part of the family. Now when the audience is liking Panchayat Season 4 a lot, Raghuveer Yadav himself says that Panchayat is not just a web series for him, it is very close to his heart. He is not surprised at all that this show is being liked so much by people of every age and every corner, because it reflects the real life of the village.
Speaking about the show, Raghuveer Yadav said, “It is really amazing that Panchayat has touched everyone, from children to the elderly, from villages to cities and abroad. When I went to Australia for a play, people of all ages came to me there to talk only about Panchayat.”
Initially, I myself could not understand what is it about Panchayat that makes it so special. But then I realized that this is the real India. Its simplicity, its truth, everyday stories of small towns that are told with so much heart – this is the biggest strength of Panchayat. There is no villain in it, no unnecessary drama. There are just real people, who are living their lives honestly in their own way. And the love that people have for it… when the release date was extended from 2 July to 24 June, everyone became restless. Everyone was saying, 'Thank God the wait was a little less, even these few days seemed very heavy!'
This show is not just a character or a script for Raghuveer Yadav, but has become a personal experience. He said, “When I read the script for the first time, I said – there is no room for acting in this, we have to live with these characters.” These are not just roles, these are real-life people. To play them with honesty, it was necessary to immerse oneself completely. The writing was so true that the emotions hidden between the pages were deeper than the written words. I myself grew up in a village, studied there, and lived among such people of the Sarpanch and Panchayat. Through theatre, I have travelled to small towns of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, UP, Rajasthan for years, where I saw such people, spent time among them. The habit of observing and understanding people carefully became the basis of my acting. That is why when 'Panchayat' came, it did not seem like just a project, it felt like our own. We did it very honestly, and the love it is getting today is a recognition of that truth.”
The new season of Panchayat is back with a twist of rural simplicity and laughter. The latest season of this fan-favourite rural comedy drama sees the lovable characters Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghuvir Yadav, Faizal Malik, Chandan Roy, Sanvika, Durgesh Kumar, Sunita Rajwar and Pankaj Jha return to the streets of Phulera village with their innocence and fun. This season is produced by The Viral Fever, co-created by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Chandan Kumar. Written by Chandan Kumar, the show is directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Akshat Vijayvargiya. The stakes of politics and relationships are higher this time in the story, but the tone remains the same, down to earth. Panchayat Season 4 is currently streaming on Prime Video and promises to be a memorable one.
