New Delhi Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with Cyprus' highest civilian award here on Monday. Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides welcomed Prime Minister Shri Modi at the Presidential Palace and conferred Cyprus' highest civilian award 'The Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios-3' in a brief ceremony after the bilateral meeting.
On this occasion, Mr Modi said that this is not an honour for Narendra Modi but for 140 crore Indians and he is accepting this honour with all humility on behalf of the citizens of India. He also emphasised on further strengthening the relations between India and Cyprus.
