Jaipur Three official websites of Rajasthan government came under the target of Pakistani hackers. These include the website of the education department, on which anti-India messages were posted. The responsibility of the attack has been allegedly taken by 'Pakistan Cyber Force'. After the incident, the state government and cyber agencies are in alert mode.
Education Minister took cognizance, website temporarily closed
Taking cognizance of the incident, Education Minister Madan Dilawar directed the information technology branch of the department to take immediate action. The hacked website has been temporarily closed for the time being, while its recovery operation is going on. The minister has assured that the website will be restored soon and the security system will be further strengthened.
Cyber attacks are happening continuously, two departments were affected on Monday also
This latest attack has come at a time when a day earlier, pro-Pak content was also posted on the websites of Jaipur's Department of Local Self Government (DLB) and Jaipur Development Authority (JDA). Both those websites have now been restored.
Cyber agencies are investigating
The state government has informed the national cyber security agencies about the matter. The identity of the hacking group responsible for the attack and any possible data leak are being investigated. Leak of any sensitive data has not been confirmed yet, but audit of all departmental systems has been started.
Serious questions on digital security
In their message, the hackers have made provocative comments against India citing the recent Pahalgam terror incident. Experts believe that this attack points towards geopolitical tensions and growing threats of cyber warfare. This incident underlines the urgent need to strengthen the security of government digital platforms.
