In the new year, many changes will be seen in the political equation of the state. New political equation will be formed with the new MLAs getting place in the cabinet of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai government. If the proposal to appoint 14 ministers in the state is approved on the lines of Haryana, then three new faces will get a chance in the cabinet of the Sai government.
At present, there is a provision to appoint only 13.5 percent MLAs as ministers as per 15 percent in the 90-seat assembly of the state. Although there is a BJP government in Haryana too and there are also 90 seats in the assembly, despite this 14 ministers have been appointed there.
In such a situation, speculations are being made that the Haryana formula can work in Chhattisgarh too. After Minister Brijmohan Agarwal became Raipur MP, there are 11 ministers in the Sai cabinet now. Apart from the cabinet, the Sai government will also appoint Chairman-Vice Chairman and members in 33 corporation boards. Similarly, there can be an exercise to appoint Deputy Chairman in the assembly and Deputy Leader of Opposition from Congress.
Merger of Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J) in Congress
Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (J) is expected to merge with the State Congress Committee. Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J) has written a letter to State President Deepak Baij and sent a proposal for merger with Congress. Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J) was founded on 23 June 2016 by former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi.
Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (J) contested the 2018 assembly elections in alliance with BSP. The alliance got only seven seats out of 90, including five for Jogi's party and two for BSP. In the 2023 assembly elections, Jogi's party contested alone. Candidates contested on 77 seats, but no one tasted victory.
There will be a change in the State Congress Committee
The voice of big change in Congress has been rising for the last several months. The party leadership has hinted about this on many occasions before. Till now no major change has been seen in the party, but now the voice of change has started rising loudly.
Many posts including General Secretary, Secretary and District President are vacant in the state Congress organization. New people are to be appointed on these posts. These posts are vacant for a long time. In the new year, urban and rural district presidents will be changed in many districts, for which preparations have been made.
